CHESAPEAKE - Drivers using the Gilmerton Bridge will have to go another way for two days next week.
The span will close on April 20 and 21 from 8:00 p.m. to noon, affecting the morning commute on Thursday and Friday.
VDOT says crews will perform drill shaft concrete pouring, utility cuts and other necessary bridge work.
Traffic will be detoured to the I-64 High Rise Bridge.
VDOT says this work will keep the project on budget and on schedule for the Fall 2013 completion date.
