JAMES RIVER BRIDGE
Route 17 North/South- Motorists should expect alternating lane closures over the James River Bridge for sweeping and drain cleaning operations, Monday, May 24, through Wednesday, May 26, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Route 17 North – Motorists should expect single, alternating lane closures on the James River Bridge for bridge repairs, Monday, May 24, through Thursday, May 27, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Route 17 South – Motorists should expect single, alternating lane closures on the James River Bridge for bridge repairs, Monday, May 24, through Thursday, May 27, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

COLEMAN BRIDGE
Route 17 North/South – Motorists should expect alternating lane closures on the Coleman Bridge for sweeping and drain cleaning operations, Thursday, May 27, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

HAMPTON
I-664 North/South – As part of a long-term paving project, motorists should expect lane and shoulder closures:

I-664 North – Motorists should expect left shoulder closures at the Aberdeen Road Bridge for median barrier construction through June 24. 

I-664 South – Motorists should expect a left shoulder and left lane closure at the Aberdeen Road Bridge for median barrier construction through June 24. 

Additional lane closures may be necessary in this area from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

I-664 South – Motorists should expect single lane and shoulder closures at the Aberdeen Road Bridge for median barrier placement, Sunday, May 23, through 

I-664 North – Motorists should expect ramp closures at the Aberdeen Road on-ramp for concrete pavement repairs, Sunday, May 23, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.  Motorists should be alert for detours in the area.

I-664 North – Motorists should expect ramp closures at the Chestnut Avenue on-ramp for concrete pavement repairs, Monday, May 24, through Friday, May 28, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.  Motorists should be alert for detours in the area.

I-64 East – Motorists should expect single lane and ramp closures at the Hampton Roads Center Parkway on and off ramps for milling and paving operations, Monday, May 24, and Tuesday, May 25, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

NEWPORT NEWS
25th Street North/South – 25th Street in the city of Newport News will be closed from Roanoke Avenue to Chestnut Avenue for street cut activities Tuesday, May 25, through Friday, May 28.  Motorists should expect detours and alternate routes.

Warwick Boulevard East/West
Route 60 – Motorists should expect multiple alternating lane closures for construction activities on Warwick Boulevard from Nettles Drive to J. Clyde Morris Blvd. Sunday through Saturday. Anticipate overnight lane closures from 7 p.m. to 6a.m. on both east and west bound lanes. Daytime lane closures should be expected daily from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on east and west bound lanes. These lane closures will be in affect through project completion in June 2010.

-    Motorists should expect daytime and night time lane closures on Warwick Boulevard, both east and west bound for the duration of the project in order to complete paving operations, signalization and lighting installation, landscaping, & other work necessary to compete the project.  Business entrances could be impacted for short periods while paving machines move past the entrances.

MONITOR-MERRIMAC MEMORIAL BRIDGE-TUNNEL
I-664 North/South – Motorists should expect single lane closures in the I-664 MMMBT for fire extinguisher inspection, Tuesday, May 25, and Wednesday, May 26, from 8 p.m. to midnight.  Motorists should also expect intermittent traffic stoppages during the inspections.

I-664 North – Motorists should expect shoulder closures on the I-664 MMMBT near the small boat channel for fender system repair, Monday, May 24, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

I-664 North/South – Motorists should expect alternating lane closures for sweeping operations, Monday, May 24, from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.

HAMPTON ROADS BRIDGE-TUNNEL
I-64 East – Motorist should expect overnight single lane closures Sunday, May 23 through Thursday, May 27, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for the roadway lighting upgrade to the I-64 East Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel. Westbound traffic will not be affected and no weekend closures are planned. The project is scheduled for completion in spring 2011.
Motorists are encouraged to use I-664 Monitor Merrimac Memorial Bridge Tunnel to avoid delays.  Take Exit 264 to access I-664.  Use exit 15A for Norfolk and Virginia Beach destinations.  Use exit 15B for Chesapeake and Outer Banks destinations.

I-64 East/West – Motorists should expect alternating lane closures in the HRBT for sweeping operations, Tuesday, May 25, from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.

HIGH OCCUPANCY VEHICLE LANES (HOV)
I-64 East/West Reversible Roadway – The HOV Reversible Roadway will be closed for pavement marking, Saturday, May 22, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

I-64 East/West Reversible Roadway – The HOV Reversible Roadway will be closed for paving operations, Wednesday, May 26, through Friday, May 28, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

MIDTOWN TUNNEL
Route 58 East – Motorists should expect east bound lane closures in the Midtown Tunnel for drain cleaning and roadway maintenance, Sunday, May 23, and Monday, May 24, from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Route 58 West – Motorists should expect west bound lane closures in the Midtown Tunnel for drain cleaning and roadway maintenance, Tuesday, May 25, from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

DOWNTOWN TUNNEL
I-264 East – Motorists should expect mobile lane closures in the Downtown Tunnel for tunnel lighting and drainage maintenance, Tuesday, May 25, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-264 East – Motorists should expect mobile lane closures in the Downtown Tunnel for tunnel sweeping and drainage maintenance, Sunday, May 23, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-264 West – Motorists should expect mobile lane closures in the Downtown Tunnel for tunnel sweeping and drainage maintenance, Monday, May 24, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-264 West – Motorists should expect mobile lane closures in the Downtown Tunnel for tunnel sweeping and roadway maintenance, Friday, May 28, from midnight to 5 a.m.

I-264 East/West – Motorists should expect a single lane closure in the Downtown Tunnel for drainage and tunnel lighting maintenance, west bound Sunday, May 23, and Monday, May 24, and east bound, Tuesday, May 25, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

NORFOLK
Hampton Boulevard Grading Project
Motorists should expect multiple lane closures, both north and south bound on Hampton Boulevard between “B” Avenue and Rogers Avenue to 90th Street for utility operations, Monday, May 24, through Thursday, May 27, daily from 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., nightly from Monday, May 24, through Thursday, May 27, from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Portions of Greenbrier Avenue will be closed to all traffic through August 2010. A detour has been established.  Motorists should be alert to detour signs and new traffic patterns in the area.

Motorists should expect lane closures, south bound, from B Avenue to 90th Street (Fleet Park entrance) for utility relocation, Monday, May 24, through Thursday, May 27, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

I-64 East/West – Motorists should expect single lane closures from the I-264 HOV entrance ramp to the I-264 westbound overpass (Exit 284) for bridge safety inspections, Monday, May 24, through Thursday, May 27, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-564 East/West – Motorists should expect mobile lane closures for drain cleaning and roadway maintenance, Wednesday, May 26, and Thursday, May 27, from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

CHESAPEAKE/NORFOLK
I-464 South – Motorists should expect single lane closures between the Military Highway Overpass and Main Street (Exit 5) for paving operations, Sunday, May 23, through Thursday, May 27, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

CHESAPEAKE
I-64 East/West High Rise Bridge – Motorists should expect mobile lane closures on the High Rise Bridge for roadway maintenance, Sunday, May 23, from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Route 58 East/West – Motorists should expect mobile lane closures on Route 58 at the I-664/I-64 interchanges for roadway maintenance, Wednesday, May 26, and Thursday, May 27, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-664 North – Motorists should expect mobile lane closures from Pughsville Road (Exit 10) to the I-64 Interchange (Exit 15) for roadway maintenance, Sunday, May 23, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-664 South – Motorists should expect lane closures from the I-64 Interchange (Exit 15) to Pughsville Road (Exit 10) for roadway maintenance, Wednesday, May 26, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-64 East/West Restorative Pavement Project – Motorists should expect alternating lane closures from the Bowers Hill Interchange to the I-464 Interchange, daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for restorative pavement maintenance work.  Work will include patching isolated concrete pavement, increasing the width of the inside shoulder and replacing two lifts of asphalt.  These paving operations will continue through August 2011.

I-64 East/West – Motorists should expect alternating lane closures from I-264 Interchange (Exit 299) to Battlefield Boulevard (Exit 290) for lane and shoulder paving operations, Sunday, May 23, through Friday, May 28, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

VIRGINIA BEACH
Witchduck Road North/South –Motorists should expect single lane closures from Bonney Road to the I-264 Interchange on Witchduck Road and at North Amerbly and Witchduck Road for drain pipe installation, Monday, May 24, through Friday, May 28, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

GREENVILLE COUNTY
Route 611 – Motorists should expect mobile alternating lane closures from Emporia to Brunswick County, for paving operations and lane striping, Monday, May 24, through Thursday, May 27, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Route 301 North/South – Motorists should expect alternating lane closures from Emporia to the I-95 Interchange ramp, for pavement marking and re-striping, Monday, May 24, through Thursday, May 28, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

BOYKINS
Route 35 North/South – Motorists should expect lane closures from the North Carolina state line, to Route 1324 for surface treatment, Monday, May 24, through Friday, May 29, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
