NOTICE: Route 17 South James River Bridge – Motorists should expect all southbound lanes on the James River Bridge to be closed for bridge electrical system maintenance, Sunday, July 18, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; use the I-664 South Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel as an alternate route. Route 17 North traffic will not be affected.

YORK COUNTY
Route 17 Coleman Bridge North/South – Motorists should expect lane closures on the Coleman Bridge for bridge safety inspections, Monday, July 19, through Friday, July 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

I-64 East/West – Motorists should expect lane closures at the Route 646 Newman Road overpass near Exit 234 for bridge safety inspections Tuesday, July 20, through Friday, July 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

NEWPORT NEWS/ HAMPTON
I-664 North/South – Motorists should be alert for ramp and shoulder sweeping operations in Newport News on I-664 both north and south bound Sunday, July 18, through Thursday, July 22, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.

I-664 South – Motorists should expect multiple lane, shoulder and ramp closures from the I-64 Interchange (Exit 1) through Aberdeen Road (Exit 3) for milling and paving operations Wednesday, July 21, and Thursday, July 22, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.  Motorists should be alert for ramp closure detours.

I-664 South – Motorists should expect multiple lane and shoulder closures from the I-64 Interchange (Exit 1) to Warwick Boulevard (Exit 5) for cleaning and joint sealing operations, Sunday, July 18, through Wednesday, July 21, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.  Motorists should be alert for detours.

I-664 North – Motorists should expect single lane closures at 35th Street (exit 5) for expansion joint repair, Sunday, July 18, from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m.

I-664 North – Motorists should expect lane closures between Dock Landing Road and Pughsville Road for pavement repair, Sunday, July 18, from 1 a.m. to 4 a.m.

I-664 North – Motorists should expect multiple mobile lane closures from Warwick Boulevard (Exit 5) to Aberdeen Road (Exit 3) for pavement repair, Thursday, July 22, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-664 North – Motorists should expect multiple mobile lane closures at Powhatan Parkway (Exit 2) for pavement repairs, Sunday, July 18, from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m.

I-64 East – Motorists should expect multiple lane closures from the I-64/I-664 interchange (Exit 264) to LaSalle Avenue (Exit 265) for paving operations, Sunday, July 18, through Friday, July 23, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-64 East/West – Motorists should expect lane closures off of I-64 on secondary road for electronic message sign repairs, Tuesday, July 20, and Wednesday, July 21, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

I-64 West – Motorists should be alert for ramp closures to the I-664 Interchange for cleaning and joint sealing operations, Sunday, July 18, and Monday, July 19, from 7p.m. to 5 a.m.

JAMES RIVER BRIDGE
Route 17 North – Motorists should expect single, alternating lane closures on the James River Bridge for bridge repairs and pavement marking, Monday, July 19, through Friday, July 23, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, July 18, through Thursday, July 23, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Route 17 South – Motorists should expect single, alternating lane closures on the James River Bridge for bridge repairs, Sunday, July 18, through Thursday, July 22, from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.

MONITOR-MERRIMACEMMORIAL BRIDGE-TUNNEL
I-664 South – Motorists should expect single lane closures in the MMMBT for drain cleaning operations Sunday, July 18 through Thursday, July 22,from9 p.m. to 4 a.m.

HAMPTON ROADS BRIDGE-TUNNEL
I-64 East – Motorist should expect overnight single lane closures Sunday, July 18 to Thursday, July 22, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for the roadway lighting upgrade to the I-64 East Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel. Westbound traffic will not be affected and no weekend closures are planned. The project is scheduled for completion in spring 2011.
Motorists are encouraged to use I-664 Monitor Merrimac Memorial Bridge Tunnel to avoid delays.  Take Exit 264 to access I-664.  Use exit 15A for Norfolk and Virginia Beach destinations.  Use exit 15B for Chesapeake and Outer Banks destinations.

DOWNTOWN TUNNEL
I-264 East/West – Motorists should expect alternating lane closures in the tunnel for lighting maintenance and tunnel inspections, Sunday, July 18, through Wednesday, July 21, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

NORFOLK
Hampton Boulevard Grading Project
Motorists should expect multiple lane closures, both north and south bound on Hampton Boulevard between “B” Avenue and Rogers Avenue to 90th Street for utility operations, Monday, July 19 through Saturday, July 24, daily from 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., and nightly from Monday, July 29 through Saturday, July 24, from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. 

Motorists should be alert for alternating north and southbound closures daily, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Portions of Greenbrier Avenue will be closed to all traffic through August 2010. A detour has been established.  Motorists should be alert to detour signs and new traffic patterns in the area.

Ballentine Boulevard North/South at I-264 overpass– Motorists should expect the alternating lane closures on Ballentine Boulevard  at the I-264 overpass/Westminister Avenue intersection for overpass cleaning, sandblasting and painting, seven days a week from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. through September 2010. Daytime weekend lane closures may also impact traffic.

I-64 East/West – Motorists should expect single lane closures at the Kempsville Road overpass for bridge safety inspections, Tuesday, July 20, through Friday, July 23, from9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

I-64 East/West – Motorists should expect alternating lane closures at the Tidewater Drive overpass for bridge safety inspections Tuesday, July 20, through Friday, July 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
                                                           
HOV LANES – REVERSIBLE ROADWAY
I-64 East/West – The High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) reversible roadway will be closed for overnight paving operations, Monday, July 19, through Friday, July 23, from 9 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

PORTSMOUTH
I-264 East/West – Motorists should expect multiple lane closures, including shoulders and off and on ramps from the Bowers Hill Interchange to Des Moines Avenue for paving operations, Sunday, July 18, through Friday, July 23, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. and Friday, July 23, and Saturday, July 24, from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.

I-264 East – Motorists should expect single alternating lane closures from Effingham Street overpass (Exit 7) to the Berkley Bridge for paving and striping operations, Sunday, July18, from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.

I-264 West – Motorists should expect single alternating lane closures from the Berkley Bridge to the Effingham Street overpass (Exit 7) for paving and striping operations, Thursday, July 22, and Friday, July 23, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. and Friday, July 23, and Saturday, July 24, from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Route 164 East/West – Motorists should expect mobile lane closures at the Route 164 overpasses for bridge inspection, Monday, July 19, through Friday, July 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Route 164 West – Motorists should expect single alternating lane closures at the Route 58 overpasses for bridge inspection, Monday, July 19, through Friday, July 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

CHESAPEAKE
I-64 East/West Restorative Pavement Project – Motorists should expect alternating lane closures from the Bowers Hill Interchange to the I-464 Interchange, Monday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for restorative pavement maintenance work.  Work will include patching isolated concrete pavement, increasing the width of the inside shoulder and replacing two lifts of asphalt.  These paving operations will continue Sunday through Thursday until the end of August 2011.

I-64 East/West – Motorists should expect alternating lane closures from I-264 Interchange (Exit 299) to Battlefield Boulevard (Exit 290) for lane and shoulder paving operations, Sunday, July 18, through Friday, July 23, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

I-464 North/South– Motorists should expect single lane closure at Jones Creek Bridge between exits 3 and 4 for bridge safety inspections, Monday, July 19, through Friday, July 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

I-464 North/South– Motorists should expect multiple lane closures from the Military Highway overpass to Main Street for paving work, Sunday, July 18, through Thursday, July 22, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Mt. Pleasant Road South/Fentress Airfield Road West – Motorists should expect a single lane closure at the Mt. Pleasant Road/Fentress Road intersection for utility relocation operations, Monday, July 19, through Friday, July 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists should be alert for flagging operations.

GILMERTON BRIDGE
Route 13 - Motorists may experience short traffic delays, due to flagging operations in the project work zone throughout the remainder of the project.  Flaggers will be assisting with maintenance of vehicular traffic as needed during material deliveries, concrete pours and crane moves in both the north and south bound directions. Motorists should use caution, be alert to flaggers, and are reminded of the 35 MPH posted speed limit in the work zone.  Motorists are encouraged to use the I-64 High Rise Bridge as an alternative route to avoid delays.  For more information, please visit the project website at www.gilmertonbridge.org.

VIRGINIA BEACH
I-64 East – Motorists should expect lane closures between the Twin Bridges and Providence Road for re-grading operations, Monday, July 19, through Thursday, July 22, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

I-264 East/West – Motorists should expect mobile lane closures from Birdneck Road (Exit 22) to First Colonial Road (Exit 23) for shoulder repairs, Thursday, July 22, and Friday, July 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

I-264 West – Motorists should expect alternating lane closures from Parks Avenue to the I-64 Interchange (Exit 1) for pavement repair, Monday, July19, through Thursday, July 22, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Witchduck Road North/South –Motorists should expect single lane closures from Bonney Road to the I-264 Interchange on Witchduck Road and at North Amerbly and Witchduck Road for drain pipe installation, Monday, July 19, through Friday, July 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY
Route 258 North/South – Motorists should expect single lane closures on Route 258 for milling and paving operations, Sunday, July 18, through Tuesday, July 20, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Route 35 North/South – Motorists should expect alternating lane closures from Route 665 to Route 673 and from Route 1324 to the overpass for paving operations, Monday, July 19, through Friday, July 23, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Route 58 South – Motorists should expect mobile lane closures from Route 35 to Route 742, for paving operations, Monday, July 19, through Friday, July 23, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
