YORK COUNTY
I-64 East/West – Motorists should expect lane closures at Route 238 for bridge deck repair, Monday, August 30, through Thursday, September 2, from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.

I-64 East/West - Motorists should expect lane closures at Route 143 for bridge deck repair, Monday, August 30, through Thursday, September 2, from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.

JAMES CITY COUNTY
Route 199 South – Motorists should expect single lane closures at the intersection of Route 99 and Route 5 for grading and excavation operations, Monday, August 30, through Thursday, August 2, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Friday, August 3, from 9 a.m. to noon.

NEWPORT NEWS/ HAMPTON
I-664 South - Motorists should expect multiple lane closures from the I-64 Interchange (Exit 1) to Aberdeen Road (Exit 3) for milling, paving and pavement marking operations, Sunday, August 29, and Thursday, September 2, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-664 North – Motorists should expect multiple mobile lane closures from 35th Street (Exit 5) to I-64 Interchange (Exit 1) for pavement marking, Monday August 30, through Friday, September 3, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday, August 30, through Thursday, September 2, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Friday, September 3, from 9 a.m. to noon.
JAMES RIVER BRIDGE
Route 17 North – Motorists should expect a mobile lane closure on the James River Bridge for equipment staging, Sunday, August 29, through Thursday, September 2, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Route 17 South – Motorists should expect single, alternating lane closures on the James River Bridge for beam end repairs, Sunday, August 29, through Thursday, September 2, from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.

MONITOR-MERRIMAC MEMORIAL BRIDGE-TUNNEL
I-664 North – Motorists should expect single lane closures in the MMMBT for tunnel washing, Thursday, September 2, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-664 North/South – Motorists should expect mobile lane closures at the MMMBT including ascending and descending bridges for overhead sign maintenance, tunnel lighting maintenance and sweeping operations, Tuesday, August 31, and Wednesday, September 1, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.

HAMPTON ROADS BRIDGE-TUNNEL
I-64 East – Motorist should expect overnight single lane closures Sunday, August 29, to Thursday, September 2, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for the roadway lighting upgrade to the I-64 East Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel. Westbound traffic will not be affected and no weekend closures are planned. The project is scheduled for completion in spring 2011.
Motorists are encouraged to use I-664 Monitor Merrimac Memorial Bridge Tunnel to avoid delays.  Take Exit 264 to access I-664.  Use exit 15A for Norfolk and Virginia Beach destinations.  Use exit 15B for Chesapeake and Outer Banks destinations.

I-64 West – Motorists should expect single lane closures in the HRBT for overhead sign maintenance, tunnel lighting maintenance, sweeping and drain grate replacement, Sunday, August 29, and Monday, August 30, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

DOWNTOWN TUNNEL
I-264 East/West – Motorists should expect mobile alternating lane closures through the Tunnel for tunnel sweeping operations, Tuesday, August 31, through Friday, September 3, from midnight to 4 a.m.

I-264 East – Motorists should expect a single right lane closure through the Downtown Tunnel for tunnel repair, Monday, August 30, and Tuesday, August 31, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
MIDTOWN TUNNEL
Route 58 East/West – Motorists should expect single, alternating lane closures for tunnel drain cleaning, east bound, Sunday, August 29 and Monday, August 30 from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. and west bound, Tuesday, August 31 through Thursday, September 2, from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

NORFOLK
I-64 East/West – Motorists should expect single lane closures at Tidewater Drive (Exit 277) for paving operations and guardrail improvements Monday, August 30, through Friday, September 3, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.  Motorists should be alert for detours associated with on- and off-ramp closures.  Motorists should also expect shoulder closures.

I-64 West – Motorists should expect mobile lane closures from the I-264 Interchange to the I-564 Interchange for drain cleaning Operations, Sunday, August 29, through Thursday, September 2, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-264 East/West – Motorists should expect mobile lane closures from Tidewater Drive (Exit 10) to Newtown Road (Exit 15) for pavement marking, Sunday, August 29, through Friday, September 3, from 9 p.m. to 5a.m.

Hampton Boulevard Grading Project
Motorists should expect multiple alternating lane closures, both north and south bound on Hampton Boulevard between “B” Avenue and Rogers Avenue for utility operations, Monday, August 30 through Thursday, September 2, daily from 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., and nightly from Monday, August 30 through Thursday, September 2, from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. 

Ballentine Boulevard North/South at I-264 overpass– Motorists should expect the alternating lane closures on Ballentine Boulevard at the I-264 overpass/Westminster Avenue intersection for overpass cleaning, sandblasting and painting, seven days a week from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. through September 2010. Daytime weekend lane closures may also impact traffic.

VIRGINIA BEACH/NORFOLK
I-264 East/West – Motorists should expect alternating lane closures from Parks Avenue to Newtown Road (Exit 15) for roadway sweeping, Sunday, August 29, through Thursday, September 2, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

PORTSMOUTH
I-264 East/West – Motorists should expect mobile lane closures from the Bowers Hill Interchange to Des Moines Avenue for pavement marking, Sunday, August 29, through Friday, September 3, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-264 West – Motorists should expect mobile lane closures at Portsmouth Boulevard for overhead sign maintenance, Wednesday, September 1, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

I-264 West – Motorists should expect multiple lane closures at Des Moines Avenue for overhead sign maintenance and repair, Wednesday, September 1, and Tuesday, September 2, from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.

CHESAPEAKE
I-64 East/West Restorative Pavement Project – Motorists should expect alternating lane closures from the Bowers Hill Interchange to the I-464 Interchange, Monday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for restorative pavement maintenance work.  Work will include patching isolated concrete pavement, increasing the width of the inside shoulder and replacing two lifts of asphalt.  These paving operations will continue Sunday through Thursday until the end of August 2011.

I-64 East/West – Motorists should expect multiple alternating lane closures from I-264 Interchange (Exit 299) to Battlefield Boulevard (Exit 290) for guardrail repair, drainage improvements and paving operations, Sunday, August 29, through Friday, August 3, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.  Motorists should be alert for detours associated with on- and off-ramp closures.  Motorists should also expect shoulder closures.

I-464 North – Motorists should expect multiple lane closures at the Bowers Hill I-64 Interchange for overhead sign repair, Thursday, September 2, and Friday, September 3, from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.

I-664 North/South - Motorists should expect single alternating mobile lane closures between the Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel and Bowers Hill for paving operations, Sunday, August 29, through Thursday, September 2, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

I-664 South – Motorists should expect single lane closures past the Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge Tunnel for overhead sign repair and maintenance, Wednesday, September 1, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Mt. Pleasant Road South – Motorists should expect a westbound road closures at the intersection of Mt. Pleasant Road and Fentress Airfield Road for utility relocation operations, Monday, August 30, through Thursday, September 2, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Motorists should be alert for flagging operations.

GILMERTON BRIDGE
Route 13 - Motorists may experience short traffic delays, due to flagging operations in the project work zone throughout the remainder of the project.  Flaggers will be assisting with maintenance of vehicular traffic as needed during material deliveries, concrete pours and crane moves in both the north and south bound directions. Motorists should use caution, be alert to flaggers, and are reminded of the 35 MPH posted speed limit in the work zone. 

Motorists are asked to use extreme caution as work crews repair barrier walls on the traffic side of the wall.

Motorists are encouraged to use the I-64 High Rise Bridge as an alternative route to avoid delays.  For more information, please visit the project website at www.gilmertonbridge.org.

VIRGINIA BEACH
I-264 East/West – Motorists should expect single lane closures from Rosemont Road, to Lynnhaven Parkway for paving operations and guardrail improvements Monday, August 30, through Friday, September 3, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.  Motorists should be alert for detours associated with on- and off-ramp closures.  Motorists should also expect shoulder closures.

I-264 West – Motorists should expect mobile lane closures at Witchduck Road for overhead sign repair, Thursday, September 2, from 9 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Witchduck Road North/South –Motorists should expect single lane closures from Bonney Road to the I-264 Interchange on Witchduck Road and at North Amerbly and Witchduck Road for drain pipe installation, Monday, August 30, through Thursday, September 2, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

SUFFOLK
I-664 South – Motorists should expect mobile lane closures at Pughsville Road for overhead sign repair, Thursday, September 2, from 10:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

SURRY
Route 40 North/South – Motorists should expect multiple lane closures on Route 40 in Surry County for pavement striping operations, Monday, August 30, through Thursday, September 2, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Route 10 East/West – Motorists should expect multiple lane closures from Route 618 to Route 31 for pavement striping operations, Monday, August 30, through Thursday, September 2, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
