YORK COUNTY
I-64 West – Motorists should expect single, mobile lane closures at the Route 143 (Exit 243) overpass for bridge safety inspection, Monday, August 2, through Friday, August 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

I-64 East/West – Motorists should expect single, mobile lane closures at the Route 143 and Route 60 (Exit 243) overpass for bridge safety inspection, Monday, August 2, through Friday, August 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

NEWPORT NEWS/ HAMPTON
I-64 East/West – Motorists should expect multiple, mobile alternating lane closures at the Oyster Point Road Overpass (Exit 256) for bridge safety inspection, Monday, August 2, through Friday, August 6, form 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-64 East – Motorists should expect mobile alternating lane closures at the I-664 Interchange (Exit 264) to Mallory Street (Exit 268) for pavement marking installation, Sunday, August 2, through Friday, August 6, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-664 South – Motorists should expect single lane closures at the Terminal Avenue (Exit 7) overpass for bridge Safety Inspection Monday, August 2, through Friday, August 6, form 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

I-664 North – Motorists should expect multiple mobile lane closures from Warwick Boulevard (Exit 5) to Aberdeen Road (Exit 3) for cleaning and sealing joints, Sunday, August 1, through Thursday, August 5, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-664 South – Motorists should expect multiple lane closures from Powhatan Parkway (Exit 2) to Warwick Boulevard (Exit 5) for milling and paving operations, Sunday, August 1, and Monday, August 2, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-664 South – Motorists should expect single lane closures from the I-64 Interchange (Exit 1) to Chestnut Street (Exit 4) for milling and paving operations, Tuesday, August 3, through Thursday, August 5, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-664 North/South – Motorists should expect mobile lane closures from the I-64 Interchange (Exit 1) to the Bowers Hill Interchange (Exit 13) for roadway sweeping operations, Sunday, August 1, through Thursday, August 5, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.

JAMES RIVER BRIDGE
Route 17 North/South – Motorists should expect lane closures on the James River Bridge with intermittent traffic stoppages of up to 20 minutes for bridge grate repairs, Tuesday, August 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Route 17 North – Motorists should expect single, alternating lane closures on the James River Bridge for bridge repairs and pavement marking, Monday, August 2, through Friday, August 6, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, August 1, through Thursday, August 5, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Route 17 South – Motorists should expect single, alternating lane closures on the James River Bridge for bridge repairs, Sunday, August 1, through Thursday, August 5, from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Route 17 South – Motorists should expect single lane closures from River Road to Kings Cove Way for maintenance repair testing, Monday, August 2, through Friday, August 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

MONITOR-MERRIMAC MEMORIAL BRIDGE-TUNNEL
I-664 North/South - Motorists should expect single lane closures in the MMMBT with intermittent traffic stoppage of up to 15 minutes for monthly fire extinguisher inspections, Tuesday, August 3, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

HAMPTON ROADS BRIDGE-TUNNEL
I-64 East – Motorist should expect overnight single lane closures Sunday, August 1, to Thursday, August 5, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for the roadway lighting upgrade to the I-64 East Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel. Westbound traffic will not be affected and no weekend closures are planned. The project is scheduled for completion in spring 2011.
Motorists are encouraged to use I-664 Monitor Merrimac Memorial Bridge Tunnel to avoid delays.  Take Exit 264 to access I-664.  Use exit 15A for Norfolk and Virginia Beach destinations.  Use exit 15B for Chesapeake and Outer Banks destinations.

I-64 West – Motorists should expect single lane closures in the HRBT for tunnel drain cleaning operations, Sunday, August 1, through Tuesday, August 3, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.

I-64 East/West – Motorists should expect single lane closures in the HRBT with intermittent traffic stoppage of up to 15 minutes for monthly fire extinguisher inspections, Thursday, August 5, from 8 p.m. to midnight.

DOWNTOWN TUNNEL
I-264 East/West – Motorists should expect mobile alternating lane closures in the tunnel for sweeping operations, Tuesday, August 3, and Friday, August 6, from midnight to 4 a.m.

NORFOLK
Hampton Boulevard Grading Project
Motorists should expect multiple lane closures, both north and south bound on Hampton Boulevard between “B” Avenue and Rogers Avenue to 90th Street for utility operations, Monday, August 2 through Saturday, August 7, daily from 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., and nightly from Monday, August 2, through Saturday, August 7, from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. 

Motorists should be alert for alternating north and southbound closures daily, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Portions of Greenbrier Avenue will be closed to all traffic through August 2010. A detour has been established.  Motorists should be alert to detour signs and new traffic patterns in the area.

Ballentine Boulevard North/South at I-264 overpass– Motorists should expect the alternating lane closures on Ballentine Boulevard at the I-264 overpass/Westminister Avenue intersection for overpass cleaning, sandblasting and painting, seven days a week from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. through September 2010. Daytime weekend lane closures may also impact traffic.

I-64 East/West – Motorists should expect single, mobile, alternating lane closures at the Military Highway overpass (Exit 281) for bridge safety inspections, Monday, August 2, through Friday, August 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

I-64 East/West – Motorists should expect mobile lane closures from the Twin Bridges to Mallory Street (Exit 268) for vegetation spraying, Tuesday, August 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

I-64 East/West – Motorists should expect mobile lane closures from Norview Avenue (Exit 279) to the High Rise Bridge in Chesapeake for vegetation spraying, Wednesday, August 4, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

I-264 East – Motorists should expect alternating lane closures from Tidewater Drive (Exit 10) to Newtown Road (Exit 15) for pavement marking operations, Wednesday, August 4, through Friday, August 6, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
                                                           
RUNWAY TUNNEL
I-564 East/West – Motorists should expect mobile alternating lane closures for tunnel drain cleaning operations, Wednesday, August 4, and Thursday, August 5, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.

HOV LANES – REVERSIBLE ROADWAY
I-64 East/West – The High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) reversible roadway will be closed for roadway lighting repair, Tuesday, August 3, and Wednesday, August 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

PORTSMOUTH
I-64 East– Motorists should expect ramp closures near Bowers Hill from I-64 East travelling to I-264 East.  The off/on-ramp will be closed for paving operations, Sunday, August 1, through Thursday, August 5, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

 I-264 West – Motorists should expect ramp closures near Bowers Hill from I-264 West travelling to I-64 West.  The off/on-ramp will be closed for paving operations, Sunday, August 1, through Thursday, August 5, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-264 West – Motorists should expect multiple lane closures at Frederick Boulevard (Exit 5) for overhead sign repairs, Thursday, August 5, and Friday, August 6, from 9 p.m. to 3 a .m.

I-264 West – Motorists should expect alternating lane closures from Greenwood Drive to the Bowers Hill Interchange (Exit 1) for paving and striping, Sunday, August 1, through Wednesday, August 4 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-264 East/West – Motorists should expect mobile lane closures from Effingham Street (Exit 7) to the Bowers Hill Interchange (Exit 1) for vegetation spraying, Thursday, August 5, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

I-264 East – Motorists should expect multiple lane closures, including shoulders and off and on ramps from the Bowers Hill Interchange to Downtown Tunnel entrance for paving operations, Sunday, August 1, through Thursday, August 5, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. and Friday, August 6, from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Route 164 East/West – Motorists should expect mobile lane closures form the I-664 Interchange to West Norfolk Road for roadway sweeping, Tuesday, August 3, through Thursday, August 5, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Route 58 East/West – Motorists should expect mobile lane closures from the Midtown Tunnel to London Boulevard for roadway sweeping, Thursday, August 5, from 9 p.m. to 4 a .m.

CHESAPEAKE
I-64 East/West Restorative Pavement Project – Motorists should expect alternating lane closures from the Bowers Hill Interchange to the I-464 Interchange, Monday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for restorative pavement maintenance work.  Work will include patching isolated concrete pavement, increasing the width of the inside shoulder and replacing two lifts of asphalt.  These paving operations will continue Sunday through Thursday until the end of August 2011.

I-64 East/West – Motorists should expect alternating lane closures from I-264 Interchange (Exit 299) to Battlefield Boulevard (Exit 290) for guardrail repair, drainage improvements and paving operations, Sunday, August 1, through Thursday, August 5, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

I-64 East – Motorists should expect mobile lane closures between Indian River Road (Exit 286) and Greenbrier Parkway (Exit 289) for concrete pavement repairs, Monday, August 2, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.
 
I-264 West – Motorists should expect multiple lane closures at Des Moines Avenue (Exit 6) for overhead sign repairs, Wednesday, August 4, and Thursday, August 5, from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.

I-664 South – Motorists should expect multiple lane closures at Pughsville Road (Exit 10) for overhead sign repairs, Tuesday, August 3, and Wednesday, August 4, from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.

I-664 South– Motorists should expect mobile lane closures over Goose Creek Bridge for bridge safety inspection, Tuesday, August 3, from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

I-464 North– Motorists should expect multiple lane closures from the Military Highway overpass to Main Street (Exit 5) for paving work, Sunday, August 1, through Thursday, August 5, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-464 North – Motorists should expect mobile alternating lane closures from the Military Highway over pass to Main Street (Exit 5) for roadway marking operations, Sunday, August 1, through Thursday, August 5, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Mt. Pleasant Road South – Motorists should expect a single lane closure at Mt. Pleasant Road and Fall Ridge Road for utility relocation operations, Tuesday, August 3, through Friday, August 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists should be alert for flagging operations.

Motorists should expect single lane closures at the intersection of Mt. Pleasant Road and Fentress Airfield Road for utility relocation operations, Monday, August 2, through Friday, August 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Motorists should be alert for flagging operations.

GILMERTON BRIDGE
Route 13 - Motorists may experience short traffic delays, due to flagging operations in the project work zone throughout the remainder of the project.  Flaggers will be assisting with maintenance of vehicular traffic as needed during material deliveries, concrete pours and crane moves in both the north and south bound directions. Motorists should use caution, be alert to flaggers, and are reminded of the 35 MPH posted speed limit in the work zone. 

Motorists are asked to use extreme caution as work crews repair barrier walls on the traffic side of the wall.

VIRGINIA BEACH
I-64 East – Motorists should expect lane closures between the Twin Bridges and Providence Road for re-grading operations, Monday, August 2, through Wednesday, August 4, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

I-264 East – Motorists should expect single lane closures from Lynnhaven Parkway (Exit 19) to London Bridge Road for guardrail improvement, Monday, August 2, through Friday, August 6, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-264 East/West – Motorists should expect single, mobile, alternating lane closures at Independence Boulevard (Exit 17) for bridge safety inspections, Monday, August 2, through Friday, August 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

I-264 East/West – Motorists should expect single, mobile, alternating lane closures at Lynnhaven Parkway (Exit 19) overpass for bridge safety inspection, Monday, August 2, through Friday, August 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
