CHESAPEAKE - The new South Norfolk Jordan Bridge was free for drivers Sunday, Monday and Tuesday morning because of the storm, but it wasn't this afternoon.
Beginning at 1:00 p.m., tolls were in force on the two-lane bridge over the Elizabeth River
Officials kept free travel during the storm while Chesapeake was under a local emergency. But that declaration was lifted at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, so you'll have to pay the toll to cross.
For drivers who need an E-ZPass, an on-site sales team will be available for account registration during primary commuting hours through Friday.
They'll be on the Chesapeake side from 6:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and on the Portsmouth side from 2:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Chesapeake access is from I-464 via Poindexter Street (exit 4) and from Portsmouth via Elm Avenue and Victory Boulevard.
You can go register online, call 1-877-762-7824 or stop at the E-ZPass Service Desk in the Chesapeake DMV at 813 Greenbrier Parkway, across from Chesapeake City Park.
