NORFOLK --A second night of repairs to damaged lighting in the Downtown Tunnel will begin Thursday night.
The right lane of the westbound tunnel will close at 8:00 p.m. and reopen at 5:00 a.m. Friday, a repeat from Wednesday.
A dump truck hit about three dozen lights during the morning rush hour Monday, forcing the tunnel to close for about 90 minutes.
Elizabeth River Crossings spokeswoman Leila Rice says other drivers flagged him down.
"I don't think he was aware of what was going on. A few citizens following him in the tunnel slowed him down to let him know," she said.
There was no estimate of the cost of the damage.
