NORFOLK -- The Midtown Tunnel re-opened at around 11:15 p.m. Sunday night.

Elizabeth River Crossings closed the Midtown Tunnel Sunday night due to weather conditions from Sandy, tidal surge, and high water at the tunnel entrances.

The Downtown Tunnel was still open without restrictions.

ERC says they will continue to closely monitor weather conditions and the tide cycles over the next 18-24 hours.

The James River Bridge had one lane open in each direction at its approaches due to water on entrance ramps at both ends of the bridge.
