HAMPTON - Major improvements are planned for a segment of North King Street in Hampton and the city wants to know what you think of its plans.
A public meeting Tuesday will discuss the upgrade of North King Street where it intersects with Little Back River Road, Sinclair Road and Mac Alva Drive.
The $1,500,000 project includes re-configuring traffic flow and installing new traffic signals at the six-point intersection. It also includes curbs, gutters and sidewalks. The proposed improvements are intended to increase the capacity of the intersection and improve safety, officials said.
Earlier this year, work began on the first section of improvements on King Street from Old Fox Hill Road to Little Back River Road.
The overall project will update the appearance of an important transportation route that serves as a entrance to Joint Base Langley-Eustis.
