NEWPORT NEWS -- The James River Bridge southbound will be closed for much of the day Sunday for electrical repairs.
The work, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., will require southbound drivers to use either the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel or the Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel.
Northbound traffic won't be affected.
VDOT says crews will repair the switchgear mechanisms and conduit associated with the electrical systems.
