HAMPTON ROADS – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will close the I-64 East/West High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) reversible roadway for paving operations.  Motorists will have access to the HOV-2 reversible roadway for Monday morning commutes.

Beginning Friday, May 14, at 8 p.m. through Monday, May 17, at 4:30 a.m., VDOT crews will repave the HOV-2 reversible roadway.  Other HOV-2 lanes are not affected and will remain open.

VDOT makes every effort to schedule maintenance and construction activities during times which have the least impact on the motoring public. The heaviest travel periods in our region occur Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Traffic updates are available to motorists by visiting www.511va.com, by calling 511 or the Traffic Information Line at 757-361-3016, or by listening to Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) 610 AM.
