SPECIAL NOTE:  The Gilmerton Bridge will close to all traffic overnight on Wednesday, April 20, and Thursday, April 21 at 8 p.m. for construction activities associated with drill shaft installation.
Beginning at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20 through Thursday, April 21 at noon, and again on Thursday, April 21 at 8 p.m. through Friday, April 22 at noon, the bridge will be closed east and westbound for bridge construction activities.
Morning rush hour traffic, Thursday, April 21, and Friday, April 22, will be detoured to the I-64 High Rise Bridge.

YORK COUNTY
Warwick Boulevard North – Motorists should expect mobile lane closures northbound on Warwick Boulevard to Ft. Eustis Boulevard for overhead sign repairs, Tuesday, April 19, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

HAMPTON
I-64 East - Motorists should expect single mobile lane closures from Hampton Roads Center Parkway (Exit 261) to Armistead/LaSalle (Exit 265) for lighting safety inspection, Monday, April 17, through Wednesday, April 20, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

HAMPTON/NEWPORT NEWS
I-664 North/South - Motorists should expect mobile alternating lane closures from the I-64 Interchange (Exit 1) to Warwick Boulevard (Exit 5) for spray patching, Monday, April 18, through Friday, April 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

MONITOR-MERRIMAC MEMORIAL BRIDGE-TUNNEL
I-664 North/South – Motorists should expect single mobile alternating lane closures for spray patching operations, Sunday, April 17, through Friday, April 22, from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.

I-664 North/South – Motorists should expect single lane closures for lighting and roadway repairs, northbound, Sunday and Monday, April 17 and April 18; southbound, Tuesday, April 19 and Wednesday, April 20, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.

HAMPTON ROADS BRIDGE-TUNNEL
I-64 West – Motorists should expect a single left lane closure for fire hose valve inventory, Wednesday, April 20, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-64 East/West – Motorists should expect alternating lane closures for square cut patching, Sunday, April 17, through Friday, April 22, from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.

HAMPTON/NORFOLK
I-64 East/West – Motorists should expect single mobile alternating lane closures from Mallory Street (Exit 268) in Hampton to the I-264 Interchange (Exit 284) in Norfolk for spray patching, Monday, April 18, through Friday, April 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

DOWNTOWN TUNNEL
I-264 East/West – Motorists should expect single mobile alternating lane closures in the Downtown Tunnel for sweeping operations Monday, April 18, Tuesday, April 19, Thursday, April 21, and Friday, April 22, from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-264 East/West – Motorists should expect alternating lane closures in the Downtown Tunnel for drain cleaning operations, Sunday, April 17, through Friday, April 22, from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.

MIDTOWN TUNNEL
Route 58 East/West – Motorists should expect alternating lane closures for lighting repairs Sunday, April 17, through Wednesday, April 20, from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

NORFOLK
Hampton Boulevard Grading Project
Hampton Boulevard traffic continues to be temporarily detoured between Mapleshade Avenue and B Avenue. The six-lane detour will remain in place until the underpass is constructed. Project completion is scheduled for winter 2013.

I-564 East – During HOV lane reversal, from 11 a.m. to noon, crews will perform light pole inspection, Monday, April 18, through Friday, April 22, from 11 a.m. to noon.

I-64 West - Motorists should expect single lane closures from Little Creek Road (Exit 276) to Chesapeake Boulevard (Exit 278) for guard rail repairs, Tuesday, April 18, and Wednesday, April 19, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-64 East/West - Motorists should expect single lane closures from Bayview Avenue (Exit 272 to 4th View (Exit 273) for guard rail repairs, Tuesday, April 19, and Wednesday, April 20, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-464 South – Motorists should expect single lane closures at Main Street (Exit 5) for guardrail repair, Sunday, April 17, through Friday, April 22, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

PORTSMOUTH
Route164 East – Motorists should expect single lane closures on the West Norfolk Bridge, for roadway maintenance, Monday, April 18, through Friday, April 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Route 164 East/West – Motorists should expect mobile alternating lane closures on the Western Freeway for snow plow pavement marker inspection and repair, Sunday, April 17, through Friday, April 22, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-264 East/West– Motorists should expect multiple lane closures from Greenwood Drive (Exit 2) to Effingham Street (Exit 7) for roadway sweeping, Sunday, April 17, through Friday, April 22, from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.

I-264 East/West– Motorists should expect multiple lane closures from Des Moines Avenue (Exit 6) to Portsmouth Boulevard (Exit 4) for overhead sign maintenance, Monday, April 18, through Wednesday, April 20, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-264 West – Motorists should expect single lane closures from Frederick Boulevard (Exit 5) to Greenwood Drive (Exit 2) for overhead sign repairs, Sunday, April 17, through Monday, April 18, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-264 West – Motorists should expect single lane closures from Frederick Boulevard (Exit 5) to Victory Boulevard (Exit 3) for overhead sign repairs, Wednesday, April 20, and Thursday, April 21, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-264 West – Motorists should expect single lane closures from Victory Boulevard (Exit 3) to the Bowers Hill Interchange (Exit 1) for overhead sign repairs, Thursday, April 21, and Friday, April 22, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Route 58 East/West - Motorists should expect mobile alternating lane closures from High Street to the Midtown Tunnel for snow plow pavement marker inspection and repair, Sunday, April 17, through Friday, April 22, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

PORTSMOUTH/NORFOLK/VIRGINIA BEACH
I-264 East/West - Motorists should expect alternating mobile lane closures from Effingham Street in Portsmouth (Exit 7) to the oceanfront in Virginia Beach for drain and catch basin cleaning, Tuesday, April 19, through Friday, April 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

CHESAPEAKE
I-64 East/West Restorative Pavement Project – Motorists should expect alternating lane closures from the Bowers Hill Interchange to the I-464 Interchange, Monday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for restorative pavement maintenance work.  Work will include patching isolated concrete pavement, increasing the width of the inside shoulder and replacing two lifts of asphalt.  These paving operations will continue Sunday through Thursday until the end of August 2011.

Galberry Road Intersection Improvement - Route 13 South Military Highway – Motorists should expect lane closures at Cavalier Boulevard and Executive Drive on South Military Highway for intersection improvements to Galberry Road.  The improvement project includes drainage system upgrades and the installation of left turn lane.  Crews will close the center lanes on South Military Highway at the Galberry Road intersection through the completion of the project in May, 2011.

Motorists are advised to drive cautiously in the work zone.  Crews will be on the roadway Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Fentress Airfield Road -  Fentress Airfield Road will remain closed between Mount Pleasant Road and Blackwater Road for intersection improvements until the of April.  
During the road closure motorists will use the following detour, which is approximately 15 miles:
From North Landing Road motorists will turn right on Mount Pleasant Road, left on Centerville Turnpike and left on Land of Promise Road.

From Blackwater Road, motorists will turn left on Fentress Airfield Road, right on Land of Promise Road, right on Centerville Turnpike, right on Mount Pleasant Road and right on North Landing Road.

Mount Pleasant Road – Motorists should expect single alternating lane closures on Mount Pleasant Road at Fall Ridge Lane for asphalt paving operations and storm pipe installation, Monday, April 18, through Friday, April 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

I-64 East/West – Motorists should expect alternating lane closures from the Rotunda Bridge to the Battlefield Interchange for shoulder restoration and guardrail repair, Sunday, April 17, through Friday, April 22, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

I-64 East– Motorists should expect single lane closures from George Washington Highway/Toute17 (Exit 296) to Route 13/460/Military Highway (Exit 297) for guard rail repairs, Monday, April 18, and Tuesday, April 19, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-464 North - Motorists should expect single lane closures at Buchanan Avenue for joint replacement, Wednesday, April 20, from 9 p.m. to Thursday, April 21, at 5 a.m.

I-664 North/South – Motorists should expect mobile lane closures at the Jollif Road (Route 191) overpass in Bowers Hill for underside bridge inspection, Wednesday, April 20, from 9 a.m. to noon.
I-664 North/South – Motorists should expect mobile lane closures at the Route 58/Route 13 overpass in Bowers Hill for underside bridge inspection, Wednesday, April 20, from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. and Thursday, April 21 from 9 a.m. to noon.

I-664 North – Motorists should expect multiple lane closures at the Western Freeway for overhead sign maintenance, Tuesday, April 19, from 9 p.m. to Wednesday, April 20, at 3 a.m.

I-664 North – Motorists should expect single lane closures at Pughsville Road (Exit 10) for guard rail repair, Monday, April 18, from 9 p.m. to Tuesday, April 19, at 5 a.m.

I-664 South – Motorists should expect lane closures at the off-ramps to Pughsville Road (Exit 10) for sign safety inspections, Monday, April 18, through Friday, April 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

HIGH RISE BRIDGE
I-64 East/West – Motorists should expect alternating lane closures on the High Rise Bridge for grid deck inspection, Saturday, April 16, from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. In the event of inclement weather, the work will be performed on Sunday, April 17.
 
I-64 East – Motorists should expect right lane shoulder closures on the High Rise Bridge for conduit installation, Monday, April 18, through Friday, April 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

GILMERTON BRIDGE
The Gilmerton Bridge will close to all traffic overnight on Wednesday, April 20, and Thursday, April 21 at 8 p.m. for construction activities associated with drill shaft installation.
Closures:  Wednesday, April 20, 8 p.m. through Thursday, April 21 at noon
      Thursday, April 21, 8 p.m. through Friday, April 22 at noon
Morning commuter traffic on Thursday, April 21, and Friday, April 22, will be detoured to the I-64 High Rise Bridge.

Route 13 East/West – Motorists should expect daytime and nighttime closures on South Military Highway between Bainbridge Boulevard and Shell Road. Closures will include flagging operations in the project work zone, stopping traffic in both directions for up to 10 minutes. Crews will be replacing delineators and restriping the roadway. Motorists are asked to use extreme caution in the work zone.

Route 58 North/South – Motorists should expect mobile lane closures between North Main Street and West End Drive (Route686) for roadway lighting safety inspections, Wednesday, April 20, and Thursday, April 21, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY/GREENVILLE COUNTY
Route 58 East – Motorists should expect single lane closures from Emporia to Route 704 for paving operations, Monday, April 18, through Friday, April 22, beginning at 7 a.m. and running continuously through noon on Friday.

SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY
Route 35 East/West – Motorists should expect mobile alternating lane closures from the Meherrin Road Bridge at the Nottoway River for bridge safety inspection, Monday, April 18, through Friday, April 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
