BOSTON (AP) — The Boston Celtics had little trouble picking up their sixth straight win as Paul Pierce had 24 points, seven rebounds and six assists in a 116-95 rout of the Los Angeles Lakers. Jeff Green came off the bench to add 19 points, while Kevin Garnett and Jason Terry each finished with 15. Dwight Howard started for L.A. after missing three games with a sore right shoulder, providing nine rebounds and just nine points in 28 minutes before fouling out.
DENVER (AP) — Wilson Chandler scored a game-high 24 points and the Denver Nuggets improved to 22-3 at home with their eighth straight win, a 128-95 laugher against Chicago. Kenneth Faried added 21 points and 12 rebounds for Denver, who had 100 points by the end of the third quarter and shot 58 percent for the game.
GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — The Chicago Blackhawks remain the lone NHL team without a regulation loss this season following an easy win at Phoenix. Patrick Kane had two goals and an assist as the Hawks ripped the Coyotes 6-2. Kane already has 18 points this season after scoring twice on 5-on-3 power plays during the Blackhawks' four-goal first period.
