WASHINGTON (AP) — The Washington Wizards won for just the second time in 15 games by downing the defending NBA-champion Miami Heat 105-101. Jordan Crawford led the victory with 22 points, including three free throws over the final 11 seconds. Heat forward LeBron James had a triple-double of 26 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists but missed a pair of three-point tries over the last 18 seconds.
NEW YORK (AP) — The Oklahoma City Thunder claimed their sixth consecutive win and scored 100 points for the 10th straight time in a 117-111 win at Brooklyn. Kevin Durant scored 32 points and Russell Westbrook added 24 and nine assists to lead the Thunder to their 15th victory in 19 games. Deron Williams scored a season-high 34 points for the Nets, who had their six-game home winning streak snapped.
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) __ The World Series champion San Francisco Giants kept NL championship series MVP Marco Scutaro (SKOO'-tah-roh), giving the second baseman a $20 million, three-year contract. Scutaro hit .362 with three homers and 44 RBIs in 61 games for the Giants during the regular season before earning MVP honors in the NLCS.
CHICAGO (AP) — Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher acknowledges he could miss the rest of the regular season because of a hamstring injury, meaning he might have played his last game with the Bears since his contract is up after the season. In an interview Tuesday with FOX Chicago, Urlacher says doctors tell him he could be out "two to four weeks, three, could be four." The Chicago Tribune, citing sources, reported earlier in the day that he was expected to miss three games and possibly the rest of the regular season because of a Grade 2 right hamstring strain suffered in Sunday's loss to Seattle.
DAVIE, Fla. (AP) — The Miami Dolphins have placed left tackle Jake Long on injured reserve because of a left triceps injury, ending his season and perhaps his tenure with the team. The perennial Pro Bowl pick and No. 1 overall choice in the 2008 draft was hurt in Sunday's loss to New England. Long might have played his final game for Miami because he can become an unrestricted free agent this winter.
