RUSTON, La. (AP) — Long-time Louisiana Tech softball coach Sarah Dawson has resigned to accept a position as an assistant coach at UNC-Greensboro.
The university says Dawson submitted her resignation on Monday.
Dawson joined the Lady Techster program in 2003 and for the past decade and recorded a 240-338 record, including three winning seasons in the last five years. Her career was highlighted by the Techsters' 2008 run to the NCAA Tournament when they captured the Western Athletic Conference tournament title in Honolulu by defeating four Top 25 teams in four days.
Prior to arriving in Ruston, Dawson coached at Louisiana-Monroe and Marshall.
The university did not say when it would begin a search for her replacement.
