LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear has more than just a state pride interest in the Rolex Kentucky event. He's got a family tie, too.
Emily Beshear, the governor's daughter-in-law, and her former Thoroughbred racehorse, Here's To You, are competing in the four-star Olympic level event competition at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.
Emily Beshear is married to the governor's son, Jeff Beshear, an equine vet in Charlottesville, Va.
Emily Beshear told the Lexington Herald-Leader (http://bit.ly/JMD27v ) said having a good Rolex Kentucky with her whole family there to cheer her own "would make it very special."
Gov. Beshear said his fingers are crossed, particularly for Saturday's cross-country jumping phase.
Emily Beshear took the challenge in stride, scoring a respectable 53.8 in Friday's dressage competition.
