PORTSMOUTH --  To say Lakendrick Ross had a rough life is an understatement.

Ross' mother died of a heart attack when he was 12 and he was shipped around between 10 foster homes.

At 6'4' and nearly 370 pounds, he was chasing a dream Monday at his Alma Mater, Norcom High School. Before nearly 10 NFL scouts, Ross had his pro day.  Not bad for someone who didn't start playing the game full-time until his senior year of high school. The result -- he made all-state.

Academics sidelined him from being pursued from Virginia Tech. Instead, his journey led him to Division III Virginia University of Lynchburg.

The NFL has its annual Supplemental Draft on July 11. Should Ross not get selected by then, he could sign as a free agent for a team.
