NORFOLK -- The Norfolk Tides are taking on their parent team, the Baltimore Orioles, during an exhibition game Wednesday afternoon at Harbor Park.
First pitch was scheduled for 3:00 p.m. but heavy rains and lightning put the game on hold temporarily.
According to the team's website, president Ken Young said, "This promises to be an exciting event for the area, and is yet another example of the dedication the Orioles have to the Tides organization and the Hampton Roads community."
This is Baltimore's third appearance at Harbor Park since the Tides became their Triple-A affiliate in 2007.
In the end, the Tides won 6 - 4.
The Tides open their regular season on April 5 with a four-game series in Charlotte before opening the home portion of their schedule on Monday, April 9 vs. the Gwinnett Braves.
