"The future looks really bright," in the world according to ODU head football coach Bobby Wilder. At his final weekly Monday press conference, Wilder was quick to point out how his team was embarrassed and disappointed with the game at North Carolina. However, he noted that 2013 will go down as a success.
ODU finished with an 8-4 record. They went undefeated at home for the first time ever. They also won their first ever game against an FBS opponent. They will get plenty more chances to do that next year as 11 of their 12 games will be against FBS schools. They will have 18 of 22 starters returning for the task as they join Conference USA full time. Coach Wilder produced a list of C-USA teams today with ODU at the bottom of that list. He says they are ready to work their way from the bottom to the top starting right now.
