VIRGINIA BEACH-Ocean Lakes High School Linebacker Jahvoni Simmons has decided to play football at the University of Virginia in 2015. The four-star recruit (#160 of ESPN's top 300) made the announcement Tuesday afternoon.
Simmons cited his fondness for Cavaliers Coach Mike London as a big reason for his decision. “Me and my family bonded with Coach London up there very well. He’s an excellent guy, excellent man. It’s not always about football with him; he talks about life. He keeps you level headed and also humble.”
Simmons is well respected by his coach and fellow players and hopes to lead his team to a state championship this fall. The Dolphins lost the championship game to Bird 14-10 in 2012 back when Jahvoni was a sophomore. The UVA bound player seems ready and focused to take his team far this year.
