Maynor in at HU; Rose out

HAMPTON, VA-The Hampton Pirates decided to go in another direction. Donovan Rose is out as their head football coach. A former Pirates player and long time assistant, he was 25 and 30 during his time at the helm at Hampton. No playoff appearances. This season alone they started off 0-5 and finished up 4-8. Rose will be reassigned within another department at the school.

His replacement is Connell Maynor from Winston Salem State. Maynor has been there the past four seasons.Prior to that, he served as offensive coordinator at Fayetteville State. He led the Rams to a 45-6 record and a 29-2 mark in the CIAA. The 44 year old led the Rams to three straight CIAA championships; three straight appearances in the NCAA Div. II playoffs; two Super Region One titles; an NCAA Semifinal appearance in 2011; and an NCAA Div. II National Championship appearance and runner-up title.
