CHARLOTTESVILLE- Making its first ever state title game appearance, the Ocean Lakes Dolphins tried to rally late, but couldn't muster enough and lost to L.C. Bird 14-10 in the Division 6 state finals at the University of Virginia.  The Dolphins opened the scoring when Andre Dessenberg took a screen pass from Walter "Churchie" Harold and threw a 77 yard touchdown pass to Anthony Wolters and a 7-0 lead.

Ocean Lakes went up 10-7 before the Skyhawks responded through the running of Paul Robertson.  He had 180 yards rushing on 27 carries that included a 67 yard touchdown run.  The Dolphins finish the season with a 14-1 record.
