Oscar Smith defensive tackle Andrew Brown says he used to be picked on for being fat.  He has come along way to today when he could say, "Look at me now," after winning the Gatorade national Player of the Year award.

Brown is the number one rated defensive tackle prospect in the nation.  He is taking his 3.6 GPA to UVA, where is is enrolled to start classes in January. Of the 29 players who have won this award over the years, he is only the second defensive player to be honored.

Brown and his Oscar Smith teammates are playing in the state championship game on Saturday in Charlottesville.  The Tigers are undefeated this season.

This is the third time a player from Hampton Roads has won the Gatorade Player of the Year. Tabb's Terry Kirby won in 1989 and Hampton's Ronald Curry in 1998.
