--When you’re storing or transporting a large kitchen knife, a cardboard
tube makes a perfect knife sheathe. Secure it with a piece of tape on
either end before putting it in your picnic basket.
--Organize electrical cords by slipping them through a small cardboard
tube. Or you can slit the tube and slip it over several cords to keep
them from getting tangled.
--Cardboard tubes also make great storage for Christmas lights. Just
wrap one string of lights around the tube and slip the plug end inside.
--Instead of leaving it on the roll, take wrapping paper off and slip it
inside the cardboard tube. Tape a sample on the outside to make it easy
to find.
--Cardboard tubes are perfect for storing kids' artwork. Roll them up
and slip them inside. If you have several tubes you can store them
upright in a small trashcan.
--You can even use a cardboard tube to make customized napkin rings for
your next party. Just cut the tube into one inch sections. and decorate.
--At Easter time, nothing works better for drying colored eggs than one
inch sections of cardboard tubing.
So get on a recycling roll and start saving cardboard tubes.
