Dog tips
03:21 AM EDT on Thursday, August 5, 2004
--The cleaner your dog, the cleaner your house. Make sure your pet gets
brushed and bathed regularly.
--Invest in a vacuum cleaner with a beater bar to get pet hair off the
carpet. A regular vacuum doesn’t have enough suction power to do the job.
--Use a lint brush or a damp sponge to remove pet hair from furniture.
In extreme cases, brush the area then use a strip of wide tape to pull
hair off.
--Position a large placemat under your pet’s dish to keep food from
getting on the floor.
--Dog dishes will be easier to clean if you spray them lightly with
cooking spray and that small dose of oil will keep your pet’s coat
shiny. Just make sure they have no allergies.
--If you drop a few ice cubes in your dog’s water dish, it will help
keep the water cool for several hours.
--Pet accidents on the carpet should be cleaned up immediately because
the scent will cause animals to keep coming back to the same place.
--Enzyme cleaners do a great job removing stains and odors. When you
apply the cleaner, place a sheet of plastic over the area and step on
it. That will help to saturate the carpet all the way to the backing.
--A black Fluorescent lamp will cause pet stains to glow in the dark.
You can use this technique to make sure you find all areas that need to
be treated.
So there you have it, a few tips to help with man’s best friend.
