--Shop for bargains on fresh fruits and vegetables and freeze them to
use later in the year. Freezer safe plastic zip bags make it quick and
simple even for busy moms.
--You need to protect your skin all year long so stock up on sunscreen
when it’s on sale at the end of the summer. Check the expiration date
and plan to use it for ski vacations or any time you’ll be outdoors.
--Flip flops are great all year long for use in showers, the gym and
around the house. Buy extra while they’re on sale.
--Swim goggles are impossible to find in the winter. If your kids ever
swim indoors in winter, be sure to pick up an extra pair.
--Beach towels are a great value at the end of the summer. They’re plush
and oversized and just right for a little luxury after a shower.
--Look for sand molds and plan to use them to create fabulous ice cream
molds throughout the year. For example, a castle mold filled with
chocolate ice cream makes a great haunted house dessert for Halloween.
--Stock up on vinyl picnic tablecloths when they’re on sale. They’re
perfect to protect your table when doing messy crafts and chores during
the long days indoors.
--Use the sand and shell kids gather at the beach to create this
beautiful candlescape. It looks great and will remind you of summer all
year long.
--Help kids save summer memories by making placemats from postcards,
ticket stubs and pictures from summer vacations. Just glue them on
cardboard and cover with contact paper.
So try these few tips and you’ll be able to savor summer all year
long.
