Cleaning your windows
12:02 AM EDT on Thursday, April 15, 2004
-First, remove any screens and spray them clean with a hose.
-Once they’re dry, repair any tiny holes by dapping them clear nail
polish remover.
-Blend one cup of white vinegar with a bucket of water and fill a second
bucket with clear water.
-Old newspaper works great for washing and drying windows. However, if
you have vinyl, it’s best to use paper towels because the ink can
discolor the vinyl.
-If using paper towels, be sure to avoid using one with lanolin or aloe
because they will streak and smudge.
-Experts recommend that you clean windows on a dry, cloudy day and start
with the inside and do the outside windows after that.
-Start at the top of the window and wash it clean with the solution.
Then go back with fresh paper and wipe with clear water.
-Then squeegee the window making sure to wipe it off after each pass.
-You can buy a squeegee with a longer handle which will make it a lot
easier to reach.
-Use a ball of newspaper to dry windows streak free.
-Then, wipe off the window sill with a dry clean cloth or paper towel.
Apply a light coat of paste wax over the sill to prevent fingerprints
and smudges.
So, let the sun shine in with these few Better Living tips.
