--You can make an excellent breaded fried chicken by replacing the bread
crumbs with fried pork rinds. Just crush the rinds in a plastic bag with
a rolling pin. Dip chicken parts in an egg wash and then coat with pork
rind crumbs. The finer the crumbs the better they will stick.
--Or you can toss a couple of slices of low carb bread into the food
processor along with a pinch of Italian seasoning.
--Chopped cooked cauliflower is good substitute for potatoes in soups
and chowders. The secret is to cook it in a separate pot until it is
very soft.
--Create great low carb wraps by replacing flour tortillas with large
lettuce leaves. Just fill with meat, cheese or tuna, tuck in the sides
and roll. Secure with a toothpick.
--If you use sugar free sweeteners look for those that are suitable for
cooking and baking so you can use them in your home made recipes. Buy a
few in packets as well, so that you can keep a few with you when you’re
away from home.
--Instead of expensive diet drinks, make your own lemonade from fresh
lemons and sugar free sweeteners.
--Nuts and seeds can be a good low carb snack but they can spoil rather
quickly. Be sure to store them in the refrigerator to keep them tasting
their best.
--It is easy to make a great low carb dessert that is simple and tastes
like an old fashioned creamsicle. Follow package directions and
substitute heavy cream for the cold water in sugar-free Jello
(trademarke). Chill and serve.
So if try these few tips and you might trim your budget while
trimming your waistline.
