Vanessa Coria

Anchor / Reporter

Vanessa Coria joined the 13News team as a general assignment reporter in July 2003.

She began her journey in news as a production assistant at WPXI in Pittsburgh, PA. After a year of soaking-up information and learning the ins and outs of reporting and producing, she took a job in Bluefield, WV, working her way up from morning show news producer to primary news anchor. She then landed in Evansville, Indiana where she worked as the weekend anchor and primary fill-in anchor for two and a half years before moving to Hampton Roads.

Vanessa is a Florida native who grew up in the northern panhandle of West Virginia. She calls the small town of Wellsburg, WV home. She first became interested in local news as a child while watching the 6 o'clock news with her parents. As a high school sophomore, she spent the day at a television station and immediately knew what she wanted to do when she "grew up." Six years later, after spending a year in Mexico City learning Spanish and earning a degree in Broadcast Communication from Bethany College, she hit the ground running in television news.

For Vanessa, Hampton Roads is a great place to live and work. After helping wake up Hampton Roads with a smile each morning on 13News Daybreak, Vanessa can be found at any one of the area's fine dining establishments enjoying a good meal. In her free time, she enjoys cooking for friends, working-out, soaking-up some rays at the beach, catching up on her Tivo and karaoke!

Vanessa lives in Virginia Beach.
