WILLIAMSBURG -- James City County Police have made an arrest for the stabbing of 27-year old Tabbitha Russell.

She died August 26th on Judy Drive when she was stabbed in her throat.

"Her face was chalk white and she looked right at me and she was trying to speak and she couldn't," said her mother Pam Ellis.

Investigators say that Russell was stabbed after getting into a confrontation with another woman. About 20 minutes before that, police say there was another brawl.

Ellis said her daughter was upset over an ongoing problem in which the family's dogs were being attacked with rocks.

"It wasn't just rocks, it was apples, just all different kinds of things. We found asphalt laying in the yard," said Ellis.

Russell was buried in her hometown of Pikeville, Kentucky over the weekend.

A candlelight vigil was held in Williamsburg for her beginning at 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Grove Community Church.
