VIRGINIA BEACH-- Red Flags were up on Thursday, Friday and Sunday at the Oceanfront. On Sunday lifeguards declared the conditions safe to swim.
Early in the weekend, officials warned swimmers to be extra careful because of the rip currents.
The best way to stay safe, they say, is to consult the on-duty lifeguards before entering the water.
