2/12 UPDATE: Not surprisingly, the storm has cancelled flights arriving and leaving from Norfolk and Newport News for a second day.
NORFOLK-This new winter storm has cancelled hundreds of flights at Southern airports, includings ones in Hampton Roads.
Checking Norfolk International Airport website around 5 p.m., six flights to destinations including Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas and Washington are cancelled. Seven flights from Detroit, Newark, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Baltimore, New York LGA and Washington Dulles are delayed.
On the Peninsula, flights out of Newport News-Williamsburg International Airport, 4:02 p.m. flight to Charlotte, NC was cancelled.
Airport officials suggest you contact your airline or check the airport Websites before heading out to make sure the flights are running as scheduled.
Delta is allowing customers expecting to travel through several Southeastern cities from Tuesday to Thursday to make free one-time changes to their itineraries. The waiver applies to travelers passing through Atlanta; the Carolinas; Huntsville, Ala.; and Norfolk.
