Va. Beach man killed in Iraq

Friends and family will gather Monday evening to remember a Virginia Beach man killed doing security in Iraq last week. From Virginia Military Institute Gregory R. Wright
Gregory R. Wright, Jr., 32, died on December 7 and the circumstances about his death weren't released.
According to his obituary in the Virginian Pilot, Wright graduated from First Colonial High School and Virginia Military Institute and then joined the Marines in 1996. He left the service In 2000 and furnished security services throughout Europe and Africa.
The viewing is Monday from 5-7:00 p.m. at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments on Laskin Road. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church at 36th and Atlantic. Following that, there'll be an Irish wake at Cavalier Country Club.
He'll be buried Wednesday at Quantico National Cemetery.
Donations in honor of Gregory Wright can be made at any Resource Bank and will be used to establish a VMI scholarship fund.
According to the VMI Web site, Wright earned a degree in history, was a member of the football team for two seasons and took park in the VMI Theater.
