RICHMOND (AP) -- The Braves' 43-year run in Richmond is over.
The Atlanta Braves' AAA farm club played its final game in Richmond on Monday before a full house in The Diamond.
The left on an upbeat not, defeating the Norfolk Tides 9-3.
Diehard fans lamented the loss of the Braves. Dan Smith called their departure "a shame" and said they would be missed.
The baseball team is moving to Gwinnett, Ga., a suburb of Atlanta, next season after four decades of play in Virginia. The move leaves the future of minor league ball in Richmond uncertain.
