The incident happened early Sunday morning on Northhampton Boulevard by Baker Road.

Three men in town on business were staying at the Best Value Inn. They were crossing the street headed to a nearby 7-11 when one of the men was hit by a car.

Police say Northington was behind the wheel and did not stop.

Police tracked her down more than a mile away off of Pleasure House Road. They say she was drunk.

In court, Northington appeared to fight back tears as the judge spoke. The only thing she asked for during was proceeding was her lawyer.

No one answered the door at Northington's home on Ocean Avenue in Norfolk, but her father was in Monday. After her initial appearance before a judge, he didn't want to speak to 13News but he did yell that his daughter didn't do anything wrong.

She remains jailed in Virginia Beach without bond.
