HERTFORD CO, NC - A Sunday night shooting spree ended with three people dead, including the gunman, and a fourth person in critical condition.
Investigators found one person dead and a woman critically wounded at United Turf, Inc. on Route 258 North in Murfreesboro just before 7:00 p.m.
That couple has been identified as 49-year-old Simon Torres Carreno and his wife Rufus Galvan Sierra. The family had just moved to the U.S.
A fourth person was found shot to death in a double-wide trailer home on Hills Ferry Road.
Investigators say they found the suspect’s crashed truck at Boone's Bridge Road and Statesville Road and then heard gunfire. They found Samuel Nash Long dead of a single shot.
Investigators believe Nash went across the street on Hills Ferry Road and shot neighbor and former co-worker Larry Wayne Parker.
The Roanoke-Chowan News Herald is reporting the gunman was a former United Turf employee.
The investigation continues. The names of the victims and suspect haven't been released.
The company released a statement Monday afternoon.
"The officials of United Turf, inc. would like to take this opportunity to express our sorrow for the tragic events which happened at the turf farm yesterday.
