SUFFOLK – A Portsmouth man is charged in what police say was a drug deal gone bad in a Suffolk parking lot.
Police arrested Patrick K. Harris, 21, saying he shot Charles Patterson Jr. as he tried to buy marijuana on September 14.
Investigators say Patterson, 19, got in a car to make the deal with Harris and several others. As he got out of the car, police say Harris fired three times, striking Patterson in the leg.
The shooting took place in the 4000 block of Belleharbour Circle.
Harris is in jail without bond, charged with one count each of aggravated assault, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, attempted robbery and cut, stab or wound.
