Man wanted in Hampton arrested in Newport News

Hampton Police are searching for a Newport News man they say committed an armed robbery.

David L. Jones, Jr., 18, was wanted in Hampton for one count of conspiracy to commit robbery. He was arrested November 10th in Newport News on unrelated charges.

On October 13th, police say Jones conspired with two other men to commit a robbery on the 1100 block of Lasalle Avenue in Hampton.

Police say the men exited a cab on that block and robbed someone. When the victim attempted to take care in an apartment, police say the suspects fired shots.

Afterwards, the suspects allegedly got back in the cab and were dropped off near the intersection of W. Pembroke Avenue and Childs Avenue.

Jones was wanted for one count of conspiracy to commit robbery.
