SUFFOLK – An elementary school student is awaiting a hearing for bringing a knife to school, authorities say.
The Creekside Elementary School student had it in his backpack and showed it to another student, explained Suffolk Schools spokeswoman Bethanne Bradshaw.
Authorities were alerted to the situation around 9:30 a.m. Friday.
According to city spokeswoman Debbie George, the nine-year-old said he had the steak knife to scare some bullies.
No one was hurt.
