A fire Virginia Wesleyan College security guard pleaded guilty to threatening the campus.

Investigators say in September Darron Muncy allegedly threatened arson at the school where he'd been employed for five years.

Darron Muncy, suspect

Muncy pleaded guilty to misdemeanor disorderly conduct in General District Court, Friday, according to our partners at The Virginian-Pilot.

At the time of the comment, Muncy was preparing to attend his son's wedding in Montana. Muncy's attorney, Pete Decker, III, says his client said something under his breath that was taken out of context.

In court, Muncy admitted to making the statement about mailing letter bombs and visiting Ted Kaczynski, saying it was "tongue in cheek," according to The Pilot.

Muncy's attorney says the comment only came up because Muncy was preparing to leave for his son's wedding in Montana, the Unibomber's former home.

Decker told The Pilot his client made the plea in an effort to put the incident behind him.
