PORTSMOUTH -- Police found a dark blue BMW believed to have struck three people walking on Greenleaf Trail and kept going.

13News' partners at the Virginian Pilot report forensics officers going over it, searching for evidence in the last Wednesday night hit-and-run.

The three, two girls, one age 17, and a 17-year-old boy, were taken to the hospital; one girl remains hospitalized and has life-threatening injuries, according to investigators.

The three are friends with Deandre Eason, who says they were all standing next to his car when the hit-and-run driver blew by.

Police say the car was south on Peachtree Lane in Churchland around 9:00 p.m. when its right side slammed into the teens.

"Everybody got pushed this way, the force from all that pushed me to the side of the ground, and when I saw Oneeka on the ground, I went to call police," he said.

Witnesses say one girl was sent over the top of a parked car.

Investigators were examining different pieces from a car that apparently were left behind after the impact.

The sister of one of the victim's tells us she has no idea how it happened, but what she can't believe is that the driver had no apparent concern for human life.

"You know you hit four people and your not gonna stop and even think about what if that was your son or daughter that just got hit by a dagone car.” Said Paris Lassiter, a sister to one of the victims.

The search for the driver continues.
