Mosquitoes in Va. Beach test positive for West Nile Virus

VIRGINIA BEACH -- West Nile Virus is now in Va. Beach.
Four groups of mosquitoes were collected from the Kempsville and Thalia areas; one group collected from West Neck has tested positive for Eastern Equine Encephalitis.
The City of Virginia Beach’s Mosquito Control Bureau is asking you make sure you eliminate standing water around your home and your neighborhood.
For information on mosquitoes and planned sprays, call the Va. Beach Mosquito Control Hotline at 385-1590. It's updated daily after 3:00 p.m.
Previously, West Nile has been reported in Suffolk, Hampton and Norfolk.
