Body recovered from Pasquotank pond

PASQUOTANK CO, NC – Searchers recovered the body of an 18-year-old man who apparently drowned in a pond over the weekend.
Sheriff Randy Cartwright says Manace Jimenez De Rosas was a migrant worker from a nearby produce farm who disappeared Sunday night in the former sand pit.
Debris made it too dangerous for a dive team to search the water.
Rescue workers discovered his body around 11:30 p.m. Monday after they began draining the pond.
His family is in Mexico.
