Electrician burned at Elizabeth City KFC

ELIZABETH CITY, NC -- An electrician is in the hospital recovering from burns after a mishap at a fast food restaurant.
David Doyle says he was trying to change a fuse at the KFC on Tuesday when electricity arced, causing a sudden flash burn.
He’s in the burn unit at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with burns on his hands a blisters on his face, he said.
Doyle works for J&J Renewable Energy based in Ahoskie, N.C.
The fire did not damage the restaurant on S. Hughes Blvd.
