10:24 AM EDT on Friday, August 15, 2008
HAMPTON – State Police will close a stretch of interstate where a motorcyclist crashed and then was run over.
At 5:00 a.m. Saturday, the I-664 southbound ramp from I-64 West will be closed for up to two hours.
Traffic will be detoured onto I-664 South via LaSalle Avenue, Pembroke Avenue and Powhatan Parkway.
Theresa Leigh Hunt, 50, of Hayes, was riding a friend's motorcycle on Sunday when she lost control around 3:00 a.m., ran into the guardrail and flipped. She was thrown from the bike and run over by a passing vehicle.
The driver of that vehicle never stopped, according to Virginia State Police.
If you know anything about this case, call Va. State Police at 757-746-2557.
Hunt was laid to rest Thursday and about 100 bikers rode in tribute to her life and love of motorcycles.
A memorial ride is being planned, but details are still being worked out, according to the manager at Hoss’s Deli in Newport News.
