NEWPORT NEWS – Police say a woman was attacked by her ex-boyfriend’s dogs in his home on Saturday.
She’s in the hospital for treatment while investigators determine whether charges should be filed.
According to police, things got out of hand around 3:30 a.m. Saturday at the home on Colony Road.
The man turned over his two pit bull terriers, Cognac and Cheeba, which have been euthanized and are being tested for rabies, according to investigators.
"This case is being investigated as an aggravated assault. No one has been charged at this point," stressed Newport News Police spokesman Lou Thurston.
The 31-year-old woman lives in Portsmouth.
