MIDDLESEX CO. - A man charged with breaking into a home in May could be responsible for similar daytime crimes in Hampton, Newport News and Gloucester.
Charles Allen Smith, Jr., 26, of Warner, was arrested in York County several days after he allegedly broke into a home on Twiggs Ferry Road. Three flat screen TVs and cash were taken in that morning crime.
On Wednesday, Newport News police confirmed they've charged Smith with two counts each of burglary and grand larceny. In that May 14 incident, police say a computer and electronic equipment were taken from a home on Willard Place, said spokesman Lou Thurston.
Smith is being held in the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail.
