NORFOLK – College law students and faculty are giving free advice on federal benefits to low-income veterans.
The University of Detroit Mercy School of Law mobile office, a 34-foot long converted RV, made Norfolk one of the stops on its nationwide Project Salute tour.
Today until 4:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., legal experts will be at the Ocean View VFW Post at 111 A View Avenue.
The university is getting help from local attorneys, legal support groups and veterans organizations.
There are more than 200,000 veterans living in Hampton Roads.
63-year-old Dan Fuller of Norfolk is a Vietnam veteran. He's grateful for the help.
"It's very frustrating, especilaly when you get all that paperwork you got to go thorugh to get it. It's very frustrating," Fuller said.
