Navy officer in Va admits to child porn count

NORFOLK - A 39-year-old Navy lieutenant commander has pleaded guilty in Virginia to one federal count of possession of child pornography.
Lt. Cmdr. John J. Hall admitted Tuesday in Norfolk to having a series of images on his home computer while he lived in Virginia Beach between November 2006 and October 2007. Court records say a search of his computer revealed about 288 images of child pornography.
Hall was later sent to a psychiatric hospital for an evaluation and was ruled competent to stand trial.
Hall is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 26. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
