Sex offender exposed himself at Oceanfront, Va. Beach Police say

VA BEACH – A convicted sex offender allegedly exposed himself to a group of people at the beach, including a 10-year-old girl.
It happened at 74th Street on the afternoon of June 14.
According to police, Daniel McMullen of Norfolk stopped about five feet from the child and her father. They say he squatted down, adjusted his shorts and exposed his genitals.
Three others saw what happened and everyone tried to stop him, but he got away, according to police.
McMullen is wanted on charges of felony indecent liberties with a child and three counts of indecent exposure.
He’s 45 and was wearing a white T-shirt, green sneakers, and mirrored “pilot-style” sunglasses.

According to the Va. Sex Offender registry, McMullen was sentenced in April 1997 to taking indecent liberties with children in Va. Beach/
According to the Va. Beach Circuit Court online records, those offenses offenses occurred in September 1996 and he pleaded guilty in February 2007 and was sentenced to three years with 1 year and eight months suspended.
